Austin Brill- President
|
Presidential Speech Good morning my fellow Americans, my name is Austin Brill and I am ecstatic to say that I am running to be the next President of the United States of America. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt once said “The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today. Let us move forward with strong and active faith”. After graduating top 5 in my class at Brown University in 1998 I realized that my knowledge should be brought to a higher level, so I decided to run for Governor of Texas. My goal as a Governor was to ensure the safety and the happiness of the people of Texas. Ten years into my profession, I realized I wanted to push myself further and be something greater because of the success I had as being governor. The following year i took my knowledge and skills to the platform of America and decided to run for President of the United States, which is why I am here today. One of the issues I believe is a concern for this nation is terrorist groups such as ISIS. This specific radical group has made it obvious they do not appreciate our western civilization beliefs and will stop at nothing until we intervene. During Obama’s presidency,we have witnessed our allies such as France and Russia undergo multiple attacks that have killed hundreds of civilians and I believe it is my duty, alongside the UN, to prevent this from going further. Since ISIS has gained power through fear and terror I believe it is important now more than ever to stay united and trust in our national security and neighbors. In light of past tragedies such as the attack on the twin towers on September 11th 2001 we have since extended multiple policies to secure our home front and this protection will continue to be strengthened under my leadership. As Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “There are many ways of going forward, but only one way of standing still” and as your commander and chief I want to see our nation progress through this war on terror. Former President George H. W. Bush once said, “Think about every problem, every challenge, we face. The solution to each starts with education.” Education is one of the most important things in America, and unfortunately one of our country’s biggest problems. Every 26 seconds one students drops out of high school, that’s 1.3 million students each year. The high school graduation rate of America is only 80%, I have a plan to combat this issue if elected president. As a country, 46 states have recently adopted common core, an entirely new way of learning and teaching. Common core is a topic of debate, to whether it is actually helping our country’s academic skills increase or if it will only increase the country’s debt, and cause more stress for students and teachers. Standardized testing evaluates a student’s performance on one particular day and does not take into account any external factors. These tests also allow it easy for teachers to only “teach to the test” and adds extra pressure on public schools to constantly evaluate students performances. If elected President I will make sure these problems in the United States’ education system are fixed with the plans my team and I have. The national debt in the United States is an overwhelming $18.7 trillion and is growing by the minute. The on going fight against terrorism in the middle east, is a major reason why our debt is so enormous as well. Fighting in a war for fourteen years has paid a toll on government and our people. Keeping up with war efforts on a cheaper bases is possible, I as the president will make sure of it, while keeping our military number one in the world. Overspending is another problem that the United States faces today. We must reevaluate the programs we currently spend our money on and make the necessary changes in order to stop unnecessary spending.. If elected, i plan to cut non essential spending and balance our federal budget, in order to decrease the overwhelming debt. To completely eliminate this debt in my tenure as president, is virtually impossible. But if we can begin to stop overspending, we are on our way to decreasing our national debt. My fellow Americans, I would like to thank you all for showing support and taking time to all gather here today. As FDR once said “We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.” With help from all of you and my team together we will change for the future now. JOSEPH F. MASSARO- VICE PRESIDENT Vice Presidential Speech Good morning my fellow Americans. My name is Joseph F. Massaro, and I am running for Vice President of the United States of America, alongside Presidential Candidate, Austin Brill. My purpose in addressing all of you today is quite clear; to highlight the strength that both Austin and I possess to help make a positive change for America. As President Dwight D. Eisenhower once said, “Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it”. Both Austin and I are committed to restoring respect that is due to the White House and the office of the presidency. From an early age, I have always been motivated to get priorities done, and do whatever it takes to succeed, whether that was on the football field, in the weight room training, or in the classroom. I’ve always pushed myself to be the best person i can be towards others; listening when they have no one else to talk to or need advice about a situation. As Vice President, I think it is vital to be approachable and provide support for people who need it. After high school, I attended Dartmouth College, where i pursued a degree in political science. After college, i then became Senator of California. Experiencing what it was like to be Senator of California, constantly assisting people in the state motivated me to want to become Vice President, so i would be able to assist all americans. One leader in American history who has influenced me greatly was President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Eisenhower served two terms: 1953-1961. As President, he was very well liked and respected by the people of the United States. His approval ratings were higher than many presidents who have been in office before and after him. If there was one characteristic Eisenhower obtained, it was leadership. “Ike” is considered to be one of the greatest military generals in American history. His success on the battlefield and in office earned him the respect of the American people. Austin and I will do everything in our ability to restore confidence in the White House. During his tenure in office, Eisenhower used his leadership to his advantage, by forcing North Korea, South Korea and China to sign an agreement to end the Korean War in 1953. This comes to show that possessing leadership can lead to foreign policy success. Considering that Austin and I posses leadership qualities like President Eisenhower, we will use this to our advantage while combatting ISIS. Since 2006, ISIS has continued to obtain weapons, followers and up to $2 million a day, which can all be used to inflict terror upon the world. I can promise you that if elected, Austin and I will do everything to our ability to eliminate ISIS and their ideology. During his tenure, Ike worked to create the interstate highway system, eliminate the spread of McCarthyism, improved America’s economy and created NASA. These accomplishments inspire Austin and I to do what we can to make America the greatest country in the world. Eisenhower firmly believed that no U.S citizen should be treated like a second-class citizen, which lead to him creating the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and 1960. These acts enforced into law showed that Eisenhower wanted all of his citizens being treated equally, no matter the color of their skin, or ethnic background. This has inspired Austin and I to fight for the rights of all Americans, to ensure that their rights are never violated. President Eisenhower once said, “This world of ours... must avoid becoming a community of dreadful fear and hate, and be, instead, a proud confederation of mutual trust and respect.” This quote is more important now than ever before. If elected, I can promise you all, that on the behalf of the Bull Administration, we will make it our first priority to ensure that America is the greatest nation on Earth, and that we are the change America needs. Thank you. |
